FESPA 2026 Barcelona: Wide-Format Print Highlights
FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona added new Corrugated and Textile shows. Here are the facts, the main trends and what they mean for buyers of signage and large-format print.

FESPA 2026, officially the FESPA Global Print Expo, took place from 19 to 22 May 2026 at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue. It brought wide-format printing, signage, textile printing, personalisation, vehicle wrapping and, for the first time, a dedicated corrugated show together under one roof. The common thread was practical, production-ready technology and closer links between print, signage, packaging and textiles.
Here is what the organiser and trade press reported, and what it means if you buy large-format print, signage or printed textiles.
FESPA 2026 key facts: dates, venue and co-located shows
According to Fira de Barcelona, the 2026 edition was FESPA's first Global Print Expo in Barcelona in fourteen years, after Berlin hosted in 2025. The venue reported more than 500 exhibitors from 40 countries, with new products, live demonstrations and solutions in printing, finishing, software and automation. FESPA's PR agency later put the figure at more than 550 exhibitors from over 40 countries.
FESPA describes the expo on its 2026 highlights page as Europe's leading exhibition for screen, digital and wide-format printing, textile printing and signage. According to PrintWeek India, the co-located events were:
- European Sign Expo
- Personalisation Experience
- WrapFest, with the World Wrap Masters competition
- Textile, new in 2026
- Corrugated, new in 2026

Three conference programmes
AD Communications reports that three conference programmes ran during the week: the FESPA Conference, the Corrugated Conference and the WrapTalks programme. Sessions covered regulation, changing customer expectations and how print businesses can redesign products and operations to reduce their environmental impact without losing money. For buyers, these programmes are a useful signal of what suppliers are being encouraged to invest in over the next few years.
What were the main wide-format trends at FESPA 2026?
A post-show summary by AD Communications, FESPA's PR agency, groups the hot topics into five themes. They match what the organiser promoted before the show.
Production-ready technology
Exhibitors focused on equipment that raises productivity and fits into existing production. Examples named include hybrid and roll-to-roll printers, dye-sublimation textile systems, DTF and DTG printing, and high-performance large-format printers. The emphasis was on machines that work in a real print shop, not concept pieces.
Personalisation at scale
Software-driven workflows and variable data printing were presented as making customised products faster and cheaper to produce. Demonstrations covered personalised bags, mugs, stickers and merchandise, as well as dye-sublimated soft signage for fashion, interiors and retail.
Intelligent workflows
Connecting production steps, from file intake to printing and finishing, was shown as a way to cut manual handling. This matches the organiser's focus on finishing, software and automation.
Sustainability and cross-sector growth
Solutions aimed at lower energy use and less waste were on show, and conference sessions covered regulation and customer expectations. The six co-located events also reflected businesses moving into neighbouring markets such as packaging and textiles.
Why the new Corrugated and Textile shows matter
The two new events say a lot about where wide-format printers see growth. Corrugated covered digital printing and finishing for packaging and display production, with its own conference programme. Textile covered printed fabrics, including direct-to-garment, direct-to-film and roll-to-roll production.
For buyers, this overlap is good news, because a sign or display supplier with a large flatbed printer and a digital cutting table can often produce short runs of printed boxes or cardboard displays as well. A textile printer making soft signage may also produce flags and promotional fabrics. It is worth asking your current suppliers what else they now offer before assuming you need a new one.
The same overlap works the other way, as packaging converters are adding digital printing for short runs and samples, which means a FESPA 2026 visitor from a sign company and one from a box plant may now be looking at similar machines. For you as a buyer, the useful question is not what a supplier calls itself but which jobs it can produce well, in what quantities and at what lead times.
What FESPA 2026 means for buyers of signage and large-format print
Trade fair trends take time to reach everyday quotes, but some effects are already visible in what suppliers can offer.
Shorter runs and more versions
With personalisation and automated workflows, small quantities and many versions are becoming easier to produce. If you need different graphics for each store or region, say so in your request and ask for prices per version as well as in total.
More choice of materials and inks
Different printer types suit different jobs, since a vehicle wrap, a rigid board sign and a backlit fabric frame each need different materials, inks and finishing. Our guide to UV, latex and eco-solvent large-format printers explains the differences, and our article on dye-sublimation printing covers fabric graphics.
Wraps, window graphics and signage
WrapFest and the World Wrap Masters competition kept vehicle wrapping and surface graphics in focus. Wrap films, window films and printed vinyl are specialist work: the film, the adhesive, the laminate and the installer all affect how long the result lasts. When you ask for quotes, state the surface, whether the graphic is indoor or outdoor, how long it must last and whether installation is included.
Questions to ask about sustainability
Ask which materials can be recycled or reused, whether PVC-free options exist for your application, and how long the print needs to last. A banner used for one weekend does not need the same specification as a two-year outdoor sign.
When is the next FESPA Global Print Expo?
FESPA Global Print Expo 2027 returns to Messe Munich in Germany from 6 to 9 April 2027, according to Large Format Review. European Sign Expo, Personalisation Experience, WrapFest and Textile are listed as co-located events, along with the FESPA Awards and World Wrap Masters.
| Year | City | Dates |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | Berlin | Previous edition |
| 2026 | Barcelona, Gran Via | 19 to 22 May 2026 |
| 2027 | Munich, Messe München | 6 to 9 April 2027 |
From trade fair to quote
If something you saw at FESPA 2026 fits a project, the easiest next step is to describe it once and let several suppliers price it. On Flobid you can send a request for SEG fabric graphics or browse displays and exhibition suppliers. Include size, material, quantity, finishing and delivery date so that quotes are comparable.
